  • Gloucester cathedral's beautiful cloister might be as well known as a film backdrop as it is as a groundbreaking medieval architectural marvel, but there is far more to this earliest surviving fan vault than meets the eye. A long-term conservation programme is focussing attention on the design and construction of this 14th century Perpendicular milestone, allowing archaeologist Chiz Harward to explore the cloister in detail and in depth for the first time.
    In this tour Chiz will explore the history and development of St Peter's cloisters, and what we hope to learn over the next few years.
